Day 5, Tuesday 26 June 07 Platja d'Aro, to Lloret de Mar (and back) 48.9 Miles (Total so far 1072.3 miles)
Today not part of the actual route, just a ride out on a superb coastal route to Lloret de Mar, yes it's not as though we hadn't had a long enough ride outs the last 3 days! It had gave a really good day out on the weather forecast. The ride out was nearly 50miles round trip.

I wanted to ride the GI-682 From Platja D'Aro to Tossa de Mar and onto Lloret de Mar, just under a 25 mile stretch of road with some absolutely stunning scenery along the coastline, at times overlooking the sea along the cliff tops, It is a really twisty road with very few straight sections, tight bends with no room for error of judgement with rock faces and drop off cliff edges either side of you.

As you can see from the photo's there are lots of panoramic view points along this road, for a coastal route with such stunning views there wasn't much traffic on the road, in fact hardly any at all, The GI-682 is a slow road, there are so many

corners which you can only take at 20-30mph which last for around 15miles from Sant Feliu de Guixols to Tossa de Mar. We met up with a load of UK bikers, speaking to them they had had there bikes transported to the hotel and they flew out. The road from Tossa to Lloret is a good road also, but not as stunning. We pulled up on the promenade with the GSX1400 at Lloret de Mar to take a few pics, and also had a swim in the sea to cool off, and then went for a coffee and ice cream before heading back to Platja d'Aro. it was a real nice hot day.

Days 6, 7, 8 & 9, Tuesday 26 June - Saturday 30th June 2007
No Ride outs these days, We spent this time walking around Platja D'Aro getting our legs working again and burning off the calories from the Hotel Xalocs all you can eat meals!!
