Hi Dave, Great site! This is my K3, which is standard performance but has a few bits I find useful such as: Small screen Crash bars – might be useful but luckily haven’t needed to verify this…! Ventura luggage. Cooler grille
Loobman oiler – small plastic bottle at rear of bike. Really cheap alternative to scottoiler but you need to be fanatical to fit it! Handguards – IMO better than heated grips as it reduces the windchill factor. Extended mirror mountings.
I use my 1400 mainly for summer touring in the UK (so it’s seen plenty of rain!) but over the past few years I’ve been to France, Belgium and Germany. Last trip was the Normandy Battlefields, and I’m doing two more in 2008.
The pics are on tour: Crossing the Rhine on a chainpull ferry, at home ready to go (notice the petrol can for Sunday riding in France!), making sense of the map in Germany, and parked up in the UK on tour in a group. I arrange the trips into Europe myself, and normally take a few mates so if anyone’s interested in a relaxed few days away then get in touch. I’m not running a tour Company but I can put a trip together, and like to stay in reasonably good places and have some good food and drink. When I go in the UK I travel with a Yorkshire based Company who I’ve used for around ten years.
